DEFINITION
A composition performed during the collection of the offering in the Mass. The Offertory follows the Credo.The most elaborate of the antiphonal chants from the mass. The offertory has shed its psalm verse, so the antiphon stands alone. (As usual, the choir sings the antiphon.)
